MVT is a tv-presenter, writer and musician. He was columnist and wrote stories about the United States, a biography about his father and his own life. Since the start of the so-called Belpop, Marcel Vanthilt is a performing artist and composing music for his band Arbeid Adelt and as solo-artist. As the print market has evolved into offering the consumer digital editorial Steve’s remit in turn has expanded into working more closely with the UK head of Online Trading and the Managing Director of GroupM digital. Steve’s career spans more than 34 years having joined The Media Business in 1982 initially planning on a range of accounts. The merger of The Media Business and MediaCom in 1999 saw Steve appointed as Director of Press of the newly formed company. Steve helped develop MediaCom’s press department to be the No. 1 press buyer in the UK, overseeing accounts including P&G, Royal Bank of Scotland, …
In 2006, following the incorporation of MediaCom into WPP, Steve became MD of GroupM responsible for the co-ordination of press trading of all WPP agencies.
Steve is on the board of the ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulations) and the General Media Panel of the ASA. In 2007 he was elected to represent the IPA on the new National Readership Survey board. In 2009 Steve was awarded fellowship of the IPA. Campaign magazine has listed Steve as one of the Top Ten media negotiators in the UK.
